Rise of the North Star – Arthur Wharton Short Film
In conjunction with Mike Tweddle and Broken Scar Productions, we filmed and edited an amazing short film about a forgotten hero of Darlington. Arthur Wharton was the first black professional football player. He played for Darlington FC so the story was something we wanted to get involved with. The script was written by Mike, and from there we got together a small cast to start filming. Over 3 days we filmed the short, all in locations around Darlington.
The end product is a 10 minute film about his life, it has seen over 17,000 views on YouTube and continues to be viewed daily.
Its an amazing story, but one not many people know about. Have a watch!
