We have just returned from Lourdes in France. We travelled with HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust. They are a organisation that enable young people with disabilities and tough home life’s to enjoy a week in Lourdes within family groups, making amazing memories and meeting new friends.
We went as part of Group 25, a newly formed group from Spennymoor. They took 4 children this year, with 12 adult helpers who were their to make the trip as enjoyable as possible. The 8 days we spent there were amazing. To see the young people grow in confidence throughout the week was great. It was our 4th time going to Lourdes, but this was the first as part of a family group.
Our role was not only a group member, but also to provide the photos and video of the week. We took about 2500 pictures over the 8 days, along with video footage which will be made into a short promotional video for the group. We also provided Facebook updates for the group to keep people up to date of our week.
